Medical ServicesPHC provides comprehensive medical services to its patients. Our provider staff includes Family Practice Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, a Physician Assistant, Certified Nurse Midwives (provide OB care/deliveries) and volunteer Specialty Physicians.
Dental ServicesPHC offers preventative dental services including: X-rays, exams, cleanings, fillings and extractions.
Pharmacy ServicesPeople’s Health Center offers pharmacy services to its patients. Patients who are eligible for the sliding fee program receive their medications at 30 to 50% below the retail market. Wagey Drug, a local pharmacy near PHC, fills all medications.
Mental HealthMental Health services are provided in-house, as well as being referred out to collaborating behavioral health agencies.
Radiology (X-ray) ServicesPHC has certified x-ray technicians to provide limited x-ray services.
Translation ServicesPHC provides translation services to its non-English speaking patients. Languages include Spanish, Vietnamese, Bosnian, Arabic, and French.
HIV/STD TestingConfidential HIV/AIDS testing and counseling is available.
TransportationPHC provides a limited number of bus passes.
Health Disparities CollaborativePHC, as leaders in managing quality improvement, and moving toward the elimination of health disparities in our community, has implemented key elements to improve health outcomes among patients with chronic diseases. Currently, PHC has developed a chronic disease management program. The program addresses patients diagnosed with diabetes. Asthma and other chronic illnesses will be addressed in the near future.
Minority Health ProgramThe Minority Health Program serves minority adults (19 year and older). Along with the medical services received, cardiovascular disease is one major illness monitored among enrollees. Also, patients in the program receive health education counseling, medication management and other medical information that discusses measures to improve their health.
Prenatal Care ProgramPHC’s goal is to provide prenatal care to women in their first trimester. Women who seek early entry to prenatal care reduce the rate of infant mortality. Having healthier moms creates healthier babies. This program’s services are provided by Certified Nurse Midwives. Our nurse midwives deliver our newborns and follow-up post-partum care is received at PHC.
Medication Assistance ProgramPHC offers several prescription assistance options to its uninsured and underinsured patients. Through various pharmaceutical companies, PHC staff complete applications for patients to obtain their medication at an affordable cost.
